October 15, 2026
At 9 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, a free yoga class starts on the sixth floor of Millcreek City Hall. At 11 a.m. on the same day, Utah's Own Holiday Shoppes open in the Public Market, and they stay open every day until Christmas Eve. The Gran Día de los Muertos Celebration is on the Plaza the night before, and the last listed Friday farmers market of the season is the night before that.
Read straight through, the Millcreek Common calendar shows no quiet stretch between summer and skating season. The outdoor Friday series wraps up and the programming moves indoors, up to The Grandview on City Hall's sixth floor and into the Public Market. The Plaza gets one more big night on Halloween. Then the Common runs from indoor rooms until the skate loop turns to ice.
Farmers Market and Sound Bites runs on the Plaza from 5 to 9 p.m. on Fridays, with fresh produce, local food, live music and food trucks. The Common lists it on October 16, 23 and 30, and October 30 is the last Friday on the schedule.
Those three Fridays are the last regular outdoor dates on the calendar. Other events still happen outside after that, but the Friday evening routine on the Plaza ends with October.
The skate loop keeps going alongside the market for now. It still runs as a roller loop, Monday through Friday from 1 to 10 p.m. and weekends from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $7 and rentals are $5. Pre-booking isn't required, but the Common recommends it. Quad skates come in sizes from Toddler 8 to Adult 16 at the Granite Credit Union Adventure Hub. Before the skating hours start each day, bikes, scooters and other non-motorized toys can use the loop for free play. SparKill teaches a free beginner roller class on Mondays at 6 p.m., included with skate admission.
Most late-October programming happens in two places: The Grandview on City Hall's sixth floor, and the Public Market.
From October 19 through October 31, The Grandview hosts the Dia De Los Muertos Ofrendas Interactive Exhibit, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Common describes it as a space where the community builds and displays a shared altar, or ofrenda, honoring loved ones who have died.
Three evening workshops run in the same room from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.:
On Friday, October 30, The Grandview hosts An Evening with La Catrina, with shows at 7:30 and 9 p.m. The room's regular Sunday schedule continues through all of it. Yoga Assets offers free community yoga with teachers from Yoga Forward from 9 to 10 a.m., and Pilates Remixed, a free mat class from Btone Fitness, follows at 10:30.
The Public Market leans toward seasonal shopping. The Bizarre Spooky Market runs Sunday, October 18, starting at 4 p.m. The Common's main calendar lists it until 8 p.m., while the Public Market page says 9 p.m. It's a costume-encouraged market of vintage, art and handmade goods. The Atwater Weavers Guild holiday boutique follows on October 23 and 24. From November 1 through December 24, Utah's Own Holiday Shoppes take over the market every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The city's November calendar lists the same daily schedule at 1330 E Chambers Ave.
The move indoors is easiest to see in the last week of October, when the Plaza, The Grandview and the Public Market are all busy within a few days of each other.

Friday, October 30 is the busiest evening of the stretch. The last listed farmers market on the Plaza runs until 9 p.m., and the second La Catrina show starts upstairs at 9 p.m. One evening takes in both.
The Plaza's last big night is Saturday, October 31, when the Gran Día de los Muertos Celebration runs from 5 to 10 p.m. It centers on a La Catrina Parade, and guests are invited to dress as La Catrina and join the procession. Catrina-inspired face painting is free for the first two hours, and there are prizes for the most elaborate La Catrina.
That makes the face painting window 5 to 7 p.m. It also means the Common offers two kinds of Halloween costume event about two weeks apart. The Bizarre Spooky Market on October 18 is a costumed shopping night in the Public Market. Halloween night is a costumed parade outside.
The Grandview exhibit's last day is that same Saturday. It closes at 5 p.m., the same hour the Plaza celebration begins, so the Día de los Muertos programming moves directly from the sixth floor down to the Plaza.
The skating changeover is the one date the Common hasn't announced yet. Roller skating is still on the schedule, and no 2026–27 ice opening date or final roller day has been published. The last two years suggest when it might happen.
Both years, ice opened in the middle of November, about two weeks after the Holiday Shoppes start. If 2026 follows the same timing, the first two weeks of November are the only stretch of the fall when the Public Market is the Common's main draw.
According to the Millcreek city calendar entry for winter 2026, ice hours last season ran from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Ice skating was open daily at $7 for loop access and $5 for skate rental. Prices matched the current roller pricing. Hours differed. Weekday ice sessions started at 11 a.m., two hours earlier than the 1 p.m. roller start, and closed an hour earlier at 9 p.m. Those figures come from the 2025–26 season and may change. For this year's date, the Common points people to its skate page and to @skatemillcreek on Instagram.
Two places on the Common's south end stay part of the routine through the changeover. The Splash Pad sits next to Millcreek Pizza House and the Normal Ice Cream Truck, which is parked at the southeast end of the Common. The pizza house also hosts Poetry on the Slice with Jamera Naquai on Thursday, October 15, at 6:30 p.m.
Farther east, Verona Cafe Lebanese Kitchen held its grand opening in July at 3007 E. 3300 S. The Millcreek Journal profiled the restaurant on August 11, covering its Lebanese menu and its hours. On the Fridays without a Plaza market, it's a newer dinner option along the same 3300 South corridor.
Every late-October date in this post comes from the posted schedules at Millcreek Common and the city calendar. The ice opening is the only date still to come. When it's posted, the November calendar fills in.
Calendars like this one, with Fridays tied to the Plaza, sixth-floor workshops and a mid-November ice opening, also shape how a Millcreek home is used from season to season. If you're thinking about what that seasonal rhythm means for a move within the valley or up to Park City, Cathy Richards and Ilies Benmansour are happy to talk it through.
